About This Entry

The Defender V8 is not the practical choice. It exists because Land Rover asked a different question: what happens when you take a vehicle built to go anywhere and fit it with the most powerful engine in the range? The answer is 525 horsepower in a body-on-frame off-roader — a car that can cross a river and then cover a motorway at a pace that embarrasses dedicated performance saloons. It is a deliberately irrational vehicle, and that is precisely the point.

The 5.0-litre supercharged V8 is the engine that powers the Range Rover SVAutobiography and the Jaguar F-Type R. In the Defender's heavier, more upright body, it produces a different experience — one of effortless, thunderous progress rather than precision. The 8-speed automatic manages power delivery across all four driven wheels. Adaptive air suspension means the ride quality adjusts continuously to whatever surface is underneath. Terrain Response 2 means the driver barely needs to think about the surface at all.

This is a 2026 example with 2,000 km on the odometer. It is, for every practical purpose, a new car. HP registered, first owner, full warranty period intact. A vehicle that was bought new and is now entering the Vault — the savings relative to a new example are considerable, and nothing has been lost. Available for private inspection in Delhi NCR.
